Afaq blames STP chief for supporting activist’s ‘killer’
KARACHI: Mohajir Qaumi Movement Pakistan, better known as MQM-Haqiqi, chairman Afaq Ahmed on Sunday alleged that Sindh Taraqqi-pasand Party chief Dr Qadir Magsi was ‘patronising’ the suspected killer of Bholu Khanzada, who was recently shot dead in Tando Allahyar.
Speaking at a press conference at his Defence residence, he said bouquet of flowers was presented to the alleged murderer, who had been arrested in a wounded condition, and his crime was appreciated by certain people who met him in police custody under government ‘patronage’.
He said that those who had witnessed the murder and filed a complaint were being booked under anti-terrorism law.
“Those who are appreciating the murderer should be booked in the murder case,” he demanded.
Mr Ahmed called for a fair and impartial investigation into the murder case.
He said that he did not talk against any particular community, but “if talking for the rights of my city is considered a biased thing, then yes, I am biased”.
He stressed the need for a unity among different parties of Urdu-speaking community and said that his recent meetings with seasoned politician Dr Farooq Sattar and MQM-Pakistan leadership were a positive start.
