PPP march against govt ‘anti-farmer policies’

MUZAFFARGARH: The PPP staged a tractor march in Multan on Monday against the government amid fertilizer shortage.

Former MNA Syed Ali Musa Gilani led a big rally in the city, which concluded at Bahawalpur bypass chowk.

The PPP has already called a march on Islamabad on Feb 27 from Karachi.

“If you people want to save the farm economy, then join the PPP struggle against the Imran Khan government,” he said.

Several PPP leaders joined the rally.

DERA GHAZI KHAN: Rallies from four districts of Dera Ghazi Khan division — Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Layyah and Dera — assembled at Sangum Chowk, Pul Daat, to hold protest against goverment’s failure to provide essential agri input to farmers of south Punjab.

The march was also attended by Peoples’Cultural Wing and PPP Kissan Wing. Former chief minister Dost Muhammad Khosa said the PPP would raise the voice of the middle class and farmers.

PPP Divisional President and MNA Nawab Iftikhar Ahmed urged the people to join the PPP long march on Islamabad.

On this occasion, slogans were also chanted against the government while tractor-trolleys were parked on all sides of the bridge and all kinds of traffic coming from the four provinces were stopped.

BAHAWALPUR: The PPP tractor march paraded from Karachi Mor to Azam Chowk.

The rally had bullock carts, camel carts, cars and motorcycles. Participants demanded fertilizers, seeds, cheap electricity for tube-wells and other incentives for the farming community.

The rally was addressed by MNA Makhdum Syed Murtaza Mehmood, divisional president Makhdum Syed Ali Gilani, divisional information secretary Shah Muhammad Channar, district president Shah Rukh Malik and city president Tathearul Hassan.

TOBA TEK SINGH: The PPP took out on Monday a tractor-trolley march in the Faisalabad division to condemn the anti-farmer policies of the PTI government.

The march started from Samundri Road and was led by district president Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmad and other former parliamentarians and office-bearers.
