PHA plan to beautify Bahawalpur
BAHAWALPUR: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has chalked out an ambitious plan under its annual development plan to beautify the city.
This was stated by PHA Director-General Jam Muhammad Baqa at a briefing he gave to Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathiya at a meeting to devise ways and means for the beautification of various parts of the city.
Jam Baqa told Dawn monuments would be built/installed at city’s main crossings while all-season plants and flowers and shady trees would be planted in the parks and green belts along the city roads.
He said monuments had been proposed to be installed at Kali Pulli Chowk, Kanjoo Chowk, while decorative lights would be be installed at Azam Chowk on the national highways.
Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner, who is also the administrator of the Municipal Corporation, during his surprise inspection of the overhead bridge near the city directed the MC officials to install LED lights on the bridge.
