One-to-one contest in Swabi

SWABI, Nov 25: The Swabi Jamhoori Ittehad (SJI) claimed on Friday it would inflict a crushing defeat on the Watan Dost Group (WDG) in the naib nazim election in the district and its two tehsils. Both the groups have already announced names of their candidates in the naib nazim election for the district and the tehsils of Swabi and Chota Lahor.

The SJI candidate for the district naib nazim seat is Jamaat-i-Islami activist Saeed Zada who was elected nazim of Maini union council. His rival is WDG candidate Imtiaz Khan who was elected nazim of Gar Munara UC.

For the Swabi tehsil naib nazim seat the SJI candidate is vice-president of Swabi Qaumi Mahaz Muhammad Naeem Khan. He is brother of provincial lawmaker Dr Muhammad Salim. Mr Naeem was elected tehsil councillor and the alliance partners of SJI have agreed that for the Swabi tehsil naib nazim they would support the SQM candidate.

The WDG has announced that its candidate is Shamsul Qamar, who is the naib nazim of Chaknodah UC.

For Chota Lahor tehsil the SJI candidate is the naib nazim of Beka UC, Muhammad Shakeel and the WDG candidate is Fazal Sub Khan who was elected naib nazim of Anbar UC.

In the district and its two tehsils there would be one-to-one contests.
