Islamabad to host two ITF juniors events
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Tennis Association (ITA) on Thursday announced holding two ITF Pakistan Juniors International Ranking Tennis Championships here at the PTF Tennis Complex during the next two weeks.
According to the ITA, ITF Pakistan AJ Towers International Junior Tennis Championships will be held from Feb 7-12 while the ITF Pakistan Syed Dilawar Abbas Memorial International Junior Tennis Championships will be staged from Feb 14-19.
According to ITA officials, a number of players from several countries including Great Britain, Canada, Iran, India, Korea, Kazakhstan, Russia, Romania, Turkey and hosts Pakistan will be competing in these championships in boys and girls U-18 singles and doubles categories.
A qualifying event for these championships starts on Feb 5 for which players are reaching for sign-in with the referee on Feb 4, while main round matches start from Feb 7.
In accordance with ITF’s Covid-19 SOPs, no spectators will be allowed at the said championships.
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has approved Mohammad Arif Qureshi ITF as the referee for these events.
