PSL security: minister seeks apology in advance

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Basharat Raja along with senior officials reviewed Pakistan Super League-7 (PSL-7) security plan at the Qadaffi Stadium on Friday and decided that the local and foreign players would move only in bullet-proof vehicles.

The minister asked the Lahore commissioner to immediately replace non-functional cameras on players’ route. He appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the administration in security and traffic arrangements.

“We apologise in advance for any inconvenience (to citizens),” said the minister.

During the meeting, Chief Secretary Kamran Afzal said a publicity campaign be launched in the media about parking areas reserved for spectators.

Inspector General of Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan said all the agencies would conduct a joint mock exercise on Sunday.

The commissioner and Lahore CCPO gave a briefing on the security plan. The meeting was also attended by the additional chief secretary (home).
