KARACHI: Activists of all political parties, both ruling and opposition, religious outfits, government officials, members of human rights and civil society organisations came together in processions and rallies held in all districts of the province on Saturday to express solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir.

They demanded in unison the United Nations and international community take notice of unabated Indian atrocities in the occupied valley and rid people of inhuman curfews, detentions, raids and gross violation of chador and char deewari.

In Karachi, activists of both ruling and opposition parties, human rights bodies and civil society organisations observed Kashmir Solidarity Day across the city to reaffirm their pledge to stand by their Kashmiri brethren till the achievement of their right to self-determination.

Over a dozen organisations took out processions most of which converged on Mazar-i-Quaid.

The ruling party at the centre, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), took out a rally from its office, Insaf House, to the Quaid’s mausoleum led by members of parliament and senior leaders. The rally was also addressed by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail at the mausoleum who condemned the unjust occupation of Kashmir by Indian forces.

PTI parliamentary leader Khurram Sher Zaman said that Kashmir was an integral part of Pakistan and Pakistani nation would continue to extend all diplomatic and moral support to the people of Kashmir.

A large number of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers led by Sindh ministers and senior party leaders took to the streets and vowed to continue their support for the people of Indian-Occupied Kashmir.

Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani who was also the president of PPP Karachi division said while leading a rally at Regal Chowk the ‘historic stand’ of PPP and its past struggle for the cause was not hidden from anyone.

The participants in the rally observed a minute of silence as a mark of respect for the Kashmiri martyrs.

A large number of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) activists took out a procession, which terminated at the Mazar-i-Quaid after marching through New M.A. Jinnah Road.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) organised a seminar at the Muslim League House where the party leaders highlighted the Kashmir issue.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, Majlis-i-Wahdatul Muslimeen, Shia Ulema Council, Youth Welfare Society, Quaid-i-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan Memorial Committee, Anjuman Muhajireen-i-Jammu and Kashmir and Anjuman-i-Noujawanan-i-Islam also staged rallies in the city.

HYDERABAD: Several processions were brought out by political, religious and social organisations to mark the Kashmir Day.

The processions were taken out by National Peace Committee for Interfaith Harmony, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, Teh­reek-i-Lab­­baik Pakistan, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl, Pakistan Raah-i-Haq Party, while Shia Ulema Council and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Sami organised seminars on the Kashmir issue.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, JI, Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan-Noorani, district administration and All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union also held rallies.

They urged the UN Security Council, Pakistan government and OIC to give up their double standards and ensure that Kashmiris got their right to self determination.

MIRPURKHAS: Officials of district administration, religious and political organisations took out several processions in the city to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The DC and SSP who led a rally urged the UN and human rights organisations to ensure implementation of resolutions on Kashmir. JI also held a rally and Pakistan Sunni Tehreek organised a seminar to highlight the Kashmir issue.

BADIN: Activists of religious, political, social and civil society organisations held protests and took out processions in different towns of the district to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day.
