Govt working for ease of doing business
ISLAMABAD: The government is involved in taking many initiatives to promote the ease of doing business in order to improve the economy, chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Climate Change Seemee Ezdi said while addressing members of the business community during her visit to Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).
She briefed the business community about efforts being taken by the government to address climate change and promote a healthy environment in the country.
The business community is making useful contributions towards economic development of the country and efforts of ICCI for establishment of a new industrial estate in the region are worth appreciation, she said, adding the business community should plant maximum trees in spring. She stressed the use of Euro 5 and Euro 6 engine vehicles to reduce traffic pollution in the city.
Mohammad Shakeel Munir, president of ICCI, briefed the visiting guest about initiatives being taken by the local industry to reduce industrial emissions. He urged the government to cooperate with the local industry and introduce the latest technology to promote environmentally friendly industrial activities.
He said ICCI has been making efforts since long for establishment of a new industrial estate in the region to accommodate small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and big industrial units. He urged the government to extend full support to this project to attract more investment in the region.
Jamshaid Akhtar Sheikh, senior vice president of ICCI and its vice president Mohammad Faheem Khan informed visiting guests about the go green drive of ICCI for promotion of tree plantation. The former president of ICCI along with Mohammad Naveed Malik and Khalid Chaudhry former senior vice presidents and others highligh ted various issues of the business community and sought the cooperation of visiting guests.
