Five more educational institutions sealed in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: While the capital saw a downward trend in the number of Covid-19 cases, two people lost their lives to the disease and 291 new cases surfaced. Positivity ratio was traced at 7.9 percent.
On the other hand, five more educational institutions were sealed; these institutions are located in Diplomatic Enclave, Shadra Kalan, Bhara Kahu, Bahria Enclave and Jaghiot.
Both deceased were female patients from the 40-69 age bracket., district administration officials, said adding their addresses are not known.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Hamza Shafqaat said cases have significantly reduced in the last nine days. He said 1,555, 1270, 1024, 932, 575, 754, 615, 499, and 465 cases were reported on Jan, 29, 30, 31, Feb 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. On other hand 175, 168, 168, 170, 169, 183, 172, 174 and 173 patients were hospitalised on the same dates, he added.
Although single day cases have reduced, hospitalisations are still not decreasing, the DC said, adding restrictions are therefore still in field.
Officials of the capital administration said deaths of two patients each were reported on Sunday and Monday. On Sunday, two male patients (60-89), residents of G-6 and Chak Shahzad passed away.
The virus death toll in the capital reached 990, they added.
During the last few hours 3,648 tests were conducted in the capital, the officials said, adding 76 cases were reported in the age group of 30-39, followed by 61 in 20-29, 40 in 40-49, 33 in 50-59, 31 in 60-69, 19 in 0-9, 16 in 10-19, 10 in 70-79 and five in 80 and above.
Likewise, 19 cases were reported from Lohi Bher, followed by 15 from F-11, 11 each from Rawat, and G-10, 10 from F-10, nine from F-8, seven each from I-8 and F-6, six from G-11, five each from E-11, G-13, and G-7, four each from F-7 and Bhara Kahu, three each from G-9, I-9, Koral and Alipur, two each from I-10, G-15, G-14, E-7 and Jhangi Syedan and one each from G-6, G-8, Tarlai, Sohan, Chak Shahzad, D-12, Sihala, B-17, Rawal Town, F-15, Kirpa and D-17.
There are currently 10,768 active Covid-19 cases in the capital.
