Suspect’s bail in judge murder case cancelled
SWABI: A local court here on Tuesday cancelled the bail before arrest of Danish Afridi, one of the suspects in the murder case of a judge of anti-terrorism court, his wife, daughter-in-law and son.
Judge Aftab Khan Afridi was targeted near Swabi Interchange of Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway on April 4, 2021, when he along with his family was on his way to Islamabad from Swat.
The FIR was registered in Chota Lahor tehsil city police station by Majid Afridi, son of the slain judge, wherein he had nominated 10 suspects, including the Supreme Court Bar Association President Latif Afridi and his son.
Later, some of the suspects were arrested during operations.
During the proceedings on Tuesday, additional sessions judge Rashid Kundi cancelled the bail before arrest of Danish Afridi and he was arrested from the courtroom.
POWER SUPPLY DISCONNECTED: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company has disconnected power supply to rural health centre, Kunda, in Chota Lahor tehsil after its failure to pay Rs1 million electricity bills, officials said here on Tuesday.
The Pesco officials told this correspondent the RHC had been shifted to the building of government high school, Kunda, after the government’s decision to build a women and children hospital at its site.
When contacted, officials at the RHC said there was no water due to disconnection of electricity, causing inconvenience to the staff and patients. They urged the Pesco to restore power supply to facilitate treatment of patients.
However, the Pesco officials said the RHC should pay the bill so that the power supply could be restored.
