PM briefed on array of issues during Lahore visit

LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday visited Lahore and held several meetings with the civil administration, party leaders and party legislators from different divisions to get a feedback on law and order, progress on development projects and political matters including the upcoming local government elections.

In a meeting with the chief minister, chief secretary and IG Police, the premier stressed that all possible steps should be taken to ensure delivery of services at their doorsteps. He directed that the government should take strict action against miscreants, hoarders and qabza mafia to protect lives, property and interests of the people. He was also briefed about the progress of development projects.

In a meeting with health minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, Imran discussed construction of new hospitals in the province and asked about public response to Naya Pakistan National Health Card in Punjab.

Local Government Minister Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed called on the PM and discussed strategy for the upcoming LG elections.

The prime minister also met party legislators from Lahore, Sargodha and DG Khan divisions and discussed political scenario in their respective areas besides preparedness for the upcoming local elections.

The PM was told that party workers were pointing out anomalies and complaints in the delimitation of union councils.
