PM’s Citizen Portal Federal departments ‘solve’ 97pc of complaints from Punjab

LAHORE: The federal departments have resolved 31,565 (97pc) of the 32,109 complaints from Punjab to redress grievances of the public at large.

This was stated by provincial heads of federal departments and regional officers regarding the Prime Minister’s Citizen Portal at a meeting chaired by Governor Chaudhry Sarwar. The governor has been entrusted the task to monitor the working of federal departments.

Principal Secretary to Governor Dr Rashid Mansoor, Special Secretary to Governor Omer Saeed, chief executives of Sui Gas, Nadra, Wapda, higher education department and provincial heads of 26 federal departments attended the meeting.

The governor directed the officers to ensure optimum target for redress of complaints. He lauded the performance of those officers and departments that showed good performance.

During the last three months, the governor was briefed that a total of 32,109 complaints were received from Punjab regarding federal departments, out of which 31,565 had been settled while 544 were delayed because of various judicial matters and other reasons.

The governor appreciated the initiative of the Nadra Regional Head Office to set up a facilitation centre in Lahore for issuance of inheritance / succession certificates and gave strict instructions to all departments to ensure timely action for resolving public grievances.

Giving strict instructions to the heads of power companies, the governor asserted that the problems faced in over-billing and installation of electricity meters should be rectified immediately. He said no obstacle would be tolerated in providing relief to the people. He said it was the responsibility of all government agencies to facilitate people instead of creating problems for them.

LIVESTOCK: Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Minister Sardar Husnain Bahadur Dreshak claims that revolutionary steps are being taken on a priority basis to enhance the production of milk and meat as the government is committed to make livestock, dairy and poultry sectors a success.

He was talking to the participants of a public-private dialogue arranged by the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade here on Wednesday.
