Missing minor boy found dead

KARACHI: A missing minor boy was found dead near Kohi Goth in Landhi on Thursday, said Shah Latif police.

They added that the body of a boy identified as three-year-old Ahmed Shoaib was recovered from an open drain.

Malir SSP Irfan Bahadur said the minor boy had gone missing while playing outside his home in the area on February 20. The senior officer added that since there were clear instructions by the city police chief Additional IGP Karachi to register every FIR immediately, the Shah Latif Town police registered a case against unidentified suspects on the complaint of the family.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident.

The corpse was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. Additional police surgeon of the JPMC Dr Summaiya Syed said the boy was in a ‘terrible shape’ as he had died several days back . “Samples have been collected, preserved and dispatched for semen serology and DNA profiling,” she added.
