First Lady Cup highlights KRC action today

KARACHI: A field of nine horses are in contention for glory in the First Lady Cup when it takes place in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

The Cup race is being held in recognition of mare The First Lady, which won the high-profile Quaid –e-Azam Gold Cup back in 2004.

The First Lady Cup which is the third race of a four-race card, has been classified under combined scale order VI and VII and will go over four furlongs.

The first race which is also the feature event under scale order III and IV has half-a-dozen contenders. It will run over four-and-a-half furlongs.

The second and supporting race under scale order V and VI has seven horses who will contest over four-and-a-half furlongs.

Another nine horses will face the starter in the fourth and concluding race under lowest scale order VIII over four furlongs.

The first race starts at 3pm.

THE FIRST LADY PLATE SCALE ORDER III & IV 4½ F:

Azeem Choice 9-0, Piyara Faisal 8-12, Croissant 7-10, Saghir Love 7-9, Dictator 7-9, New Class 7-7.

Win: Piyara Faisal. Place: Saghir Love.

THE FIRST LADY PLATE SCALE ORDER V & VI 4½ F:

Desco 9-0, Geo Baba 8-10, Take Care 8-7, Airborne 8-6, Shaista Sanam 8-2, Front Man 7-12, Galileo Lady 7-9.

Win: Airborne. Place: Desco.

THE FIRST LADY CUP SCALE ORDER VI & VII 4 F:

Soldier Girl 9-0, Princess Of Hope 8-11, Fabulous (late Fair Deal) 8-10, Shan-e-Sikandar 8-8, Sheba 8-8, Daring Dyer 8-6, Star Queen 8-5, Stella 8-3, Hello My Darling 8-0.

Win: Soldier Girl. Place: Shan-e-Sikandar and Daring Dyer.

THE FIRST LADY PLATE SCALE ORDER VIII 4 F:

Meri Chahat 9-0, Stifee 8-10, Lakoo Choice 8-10, Sassy Gold 8-8, Dubai Warrior 8-6, Ayyan Prince 8-2, Shabnam 7-10, Zahrish 7-10, Spiritual Manners (late Himmat Wala) 7-10.

Win: Meri Chahat. Place: Ayyan Prince and Sassy Gold.
