Don’t fake happiness

This is regarding the article “Don’t fake happiness”, by Syeda Arfa Fatima (YW, January 15). Happiness and sorrow are both part of life. We must accept them as such.

There is no need to fake happiness or the kind of life you are living. Be yourself and show the world who you really are. By being yourself, you become more confident and you can progress better. However, if you fake your happiness, you will only feel miserable inside and you end up with more stress than ever.

A snowy experience

This is regarding the story “A snowy experience” by Durr-e-Sakina (YW, February 5). It was a beautifully written story with realistic details of the snow and the writer’s intense feelings.

I appreciate the writer ability to depict scenes so realistically and encourage her to write more stories like this one.

Family comes first

This is regarding the cover article “Family comes first” by Yasmin Elahi (YW, February 5). No doubt, it was an incredibly motivational article.

There is no denying the fact that our family members are our caretakers and well-wishers, they must be our priority as they deserve our love and respect more than others.

II

The cover story “Family comes first” by Yasmin Elahi provided precious insight about family and its importance. It is sad that such ideas are not given much importance or discussed these days.

We love our friends and prefer to spend time with them and on gadgets, but we do not realise how much our parents and grandparents need our attention, through face-to-face interaction and gatherings. We always value things which are temporary, but not those which have a lasting effect. We fail to realise our responsibility towards others, especially our close relations, and only form relationships based on the benefit we can get.

I request everyone to take care of your family and give them priority; spend time with them and cherish their presence in your life.

The story of a pigeon

This is regarding the story “The story of a pigeon” by Rehan Hameed (YW, February 19). The story was pretty effective; sometimes a little act of a bird or animal touches our heart deeply and teaches us more than we can learn from human interaction.

It is always better to observe nature and take everyday lessons from it.
