Hyderabad braces for threat of cattle disease

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Deputy Commissioner Fuad Ghaffar Soomro has asked livestock officers to take immediate steps to control the lumpy skin disease in cattle heads.

He said at a meeting of livestock officers held in the wake of reports of the skin infection among cattle on Monday that there were fears the disease could spread to humans as well.

He said the officers should visit the affected areas and advised that healthy animals be segregated from the diseased so that its outbreak could be controlled.
