Mustafa Kamal says he will not stop discussing MQM

HYDERABAD: Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chairman Syed Mustafa Kamal has accused the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) of exploiting ‘Muhajir politics’ for the sake of powers, and observed that Karachi and Hyderabad were facing racial and lingual biases.

Speaking at his party’s youth convention in Latifabad on Friday evening, he said politicians were rightly blamed for so many things, and argued that had they served the masses over the last 75 years, situation in cities would have been different.

Successive governments left problems for others, he said.

Kamal said that he was advised to give up discussing MQM. But, he explained, his silence would signify his consent for MQM’s narrative.

He said youths used to be killed at the behest of [Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing] RAW against money and this was documented.

He repeated his allegations against Altaf Hussain saying he used to hurl expletives at the [Pakistan] army and seek India’s help. It was PSP that cornered Altaf and now Muhajirs could not be bracketed with his abusive language. “PSP rid Muhajirs of Altaf Hussain … it was something no PM could even do,” he claimed.

The PSP chief pointed out that around 500 strikes were called in Karachi but not a single one was for the abolition of quota system, for which the MQM was formed. It [MQM] failed to get quota system abolished, he added.

He said the MQM-P demanded reopening of the offices that were attributable to Altaf Hussain. Whether treasure was buried in zonal office? he asked, and said they should, instead, have demanded a university in Hyderabad. These offices of the party could not scare Muhajirs, he remarked.
