Two robbed of Rs70,000 in Topi
SWABI: A man robbed two friends of over Rs70,000 cash at gunpoint here on Sunday.
Naeemur Rehman and Hazrat Ali of Himlet village told police that the robber claimed to be an official of the Federal Investigation Agency.
They said the man approached them after they withdrew a total of Rs73,000 from an ATM in a Topi market, and took them to a nearby market for ‘investigation’.
The residents said the man later pulled out a pistol, snatched their mobile phones and cash, and fled on his motorcycle.
The police said they had registered an FIR and began investigation.
However, the robber wasn’t arrested until night.
CHARAS SEIZED: The police on Sunday claimed they arrested a narcotics smuggler after seizing over 30kg of charas on the Swabi-Mardan Road.
DPO Mohammad Shoaib Khan told reporters that the charas recovery was made during the inspection of a car near Saleem Khan bus stop on a tip-off.
He said the car was driven by Waseem Khan of Peshawar and was bound for Rawalpindi via Ghazi area of Haripur district.
The DPO said the narcotics smuggler was being quizzed after the registration of an FIR.
Meanwhile, the police arrested Waqar Ali of Jalsai village after recovering over 3kg of charas near Swabi interchange of the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway on Sunday.
The Chota Lahor police booked him and began investigation.
HELD: The killers of a teenage boy, whose mutilated body was found 10 days ago, have been arrested, district police officer Mohammad Shoaib Khan said on Sunday.
He told reporters that suspects Awais Khan and Abdullah were close friends of the deceased, Samama Khan, and killed him in Shahmansoor area over an issue.
