Land dispute claims three lives in Swabi
SWABI: A clash among blood relatives over a piece of land claimed lives of three people of a family in tehsil Chota Lahor here on Sunday, police said.
The incident took place on a service road near Swabi interchange of Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway. DSP Iftikhar Ali Khan told Dawn that the victims and alleged attackers were blood relatives and there was a rivalry between them on a 15-kanal piece of land.
The DSP said that member of both the families were present in their fields when they opened fire on each other after an exchange of hot words and as a result three people were killed on the spot and another person was injured.
The deceased were identified as Nural Baswar, his son Ibrahim Khan and nephew Ismail Khan and another nephew Mohamand Rayan was injured. The dead bodies were shifted to tehsil headquarters hospital for autopsy and the injured was taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex Shahmansoor.
An FIR has been registered against Mirwais Khan and his two sons Sanaullah and Abdullah.
Meanwhile, old enmity claimed life of a man and his brother was injured in Parmuli village, tehsil Razaar on Sunday, said DPO Mohammad Shoaib Khan.
They were on their way home when their rivals opened fire on them. As a result, Akhtar Ali was killed on the spot while his brother was injured. The Parmuli police station has registered an FIR and started investigation.
