DUHS holds orientation programmes

KARACHI: Dow University of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammad Saeed Quraishy has urged parents and medical science students not to limit themselves to MBBS and BDS degrees only, as there is plenty of room for pharmacists and youngsters should move forward.

“There is a dearth of pharmacists in Pakistan who are in short number, while a new galaxy of innovations and advances in biotechnology and other fields awaits you,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at the orientation day events.

According to a press release issued here on Monday, the events were organised separately for students and their parents, who were enrolled in biotechnology and Pharm-D programmes.

Prof Quraishy said that the DUHS provided MBBS education and also quality teaching in an excellent environment in all medical fields, including pharmacy and biotechnology. “Library and sports facilities are also available on the campus. Now, it is up to the students how they dedicate their time to these activities.”
