MoU signed for professional training of tourist guides

ISLAMABAD: Tourist guides need to be trained so they can provide optimum services towards people visiting Pakistan.

This was highlighted by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Tourism Coordination Azam Jamil after a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed for professional training of tourist guides.

The agreement was signed between Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations, Austria-Pakistan Association, Kohsaar University, Pakistan Business and Professional Council, Sustainable Tourism Federation Pakistan and Discover Pakistan which is the only channel that promoted tourism in Pakistan.

The objective of the MoU is to create and maintain an effective working relationship between parties regarding cooperation for promotion of tourism in Pakistan and development of a skilled workforce, especially trained tour guides. The MoU would remain in effect until Dec 31, 2026.
