PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has announced to increase the amount of special compensation for the heirs of martyrs of Kocha Risaldar blast from Rs2 million to Rs3 million each.

He made this announcement while talking to a delegation of Imamia Jirga led by its Khyber Pakhtunkhwa general secretary retired Brig Sartaj Qazalbash, which called on him here at the Chief Minister’s House on Wednesday.

An official statement said that the provincial cabinet in its meeting held on Tuesday had approved a special compensation of Rs2 million each for the heirs of martyrs of Kocha Risaldar blast.

The delegation urged the chief minister to increase the amount of special compensation, on which Mahmood Khan announced to increase it from Rs2 million to Rs3 million per family.

Later, special assistant to the chief minister for information Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif while addressing a press conference along with leaders of Imamia Jirga said the attack on Kocha Risaldar mosque was an attack on all the citizens of the country.

He said that in the light of special directives of the chief minister the provincial government was taking steps for rehabilitation of the mosque affected in the blast.

He said that the attack on the people offering Friday prayers was not against any single sect or particular community, but against every citizen of this country.

“The miscreants want to harm the integrity of the country, and we will defeat them through unity and brotherhood,” Mr Saif said. He said that the chief minister had directed the quarters concerned to extend full support to the heirs of martyrs and provide best treatment facilities to the injured.
