A chicken experience
This is regarding the letter “A chicken experience” by Shamoun Ghori (YW, February 5). I absolutely agree with the writer that over population of pigeons in cities is taking place and it is indeed a nuisance now.
We see these blue rock pigeons everywhere, but few other birds. For instance, the little sparrow, mayna and even the green local parrot are rarely seen.
But we see the pigeon on roundabouts, buildings, balconies and almost everywhere. Their population has drastically increased. It is concerning to read the effects of their droppings and how they can become the cause of asthma and other respiratory diseases.
We should treat these birds nicely, but be careful where we leave feed for them.

Change negativity to positivity
This is with reference to the article “Change negativity to positivity,” by Muhammad Saleem (YW, February 12). I found the article very motivational.
It highlighted points on how we can change our negativity into positivity. Because of my over-thinking, I often get disturbed and my problems increase as a result. I am unable to focus on important things going on in my life. But this article gave me some hope and some ideas to overcome my problems.
Overthinking is the first step towards a negative path. We pick friends or situations which are unfavourable to us. So I think choosing positive people and seeing the positive side of situations can boosts our confidence and play a key role in living a happy and content life.

A starry night
This is with reference to the story “A starry night” by Yumna Subhani (February 19). Often, we get negative thoughts about the world around us or the people we are living with. This is the main reason for us getting depressed. But the main thing which keeps us going is ‘hope’.
Hope is the power which never lets us down in any situation. We should think positive whatever the situation is, and try to become a positive thinker so that we can give hope to others and make them happy too.

The pen
This is regarding the story “The pen” by M Arham Usman (YW, February 26). The story gives us the lesson that we shouldn’t believe everything we see or hear, without knowing the truth behind it. We shouldn’t blame nor judge anyone without being sure. Also, we should not hide the truth and always be honest.
