Haripur tehsil council holds maiden session
HARIPUR: The Haripur tehsil council held its first session here on Wednesday and condemned a recent gun attack on its chairman, Samiullah Khan.
The council held its introductory session in the Akhtar Nawaz Khan Shaheed Hall of the Khalabat Township with convener Khanzeb Khan in the chair.
Council chairman Samiullah Khan had called the session last week but it was delayed after he was critically injured in a firing incident in the Wah cantonment area. He is under treatment in a Rawalpindi hospital.
After introducing themselves to each other, the members adopted a resolution condemning attack on the chairman. They prayed for the early recovery of the chairman.
The members also offered fateha for chairman of the VC Mohri No 2 Naveed Ilyas, who had committed suicide three days ago.
They also criticised the tehsil municipal administration over poor arrangements for the session. The chair adjourned the session for an indefinite period.
