‘Economic terrorists’ to be placed on ECL, says Sana
ISLAMABAD: Accusing the previous PTI-led government of playing havoc with the country’s economy, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Thursday said that “economic terrorists” would be placed on the Exit Control List (ECL).
In a statement, the minister said the no-fly list would be recompiled. He said economic terrorists were criminals of the nation and would not be allowed to flee the country.
Reacting to PTI leader Asad Umar’s remarks about economy, he said Imran Khan and his associates should collectively apologise to the nation for their “incompetence, corruption and plunder of the national exchequer”.
He regretted that the man who had declared to prefer committing suicide over going to IMF for loan set a new record of obtaining external debts and yet failed to initiate any mega project.
The minister said that in the name of accountability, Imran Khan had victimised his political opponents, ignoring the corruption by his coterie. He said Imran Khan had been thrown out of power through a no-trust motion after a political competition. He alleged that Mr Khan had tried to find an escape and defeat the spirit of the Constitution through unconstitutional means.
