Retired naval officer killed in Bahria Town
RAWALPINDI: Three gunmen forced their way into a retired navy officer’s residence in Bahria Town’s phase VII on Thursday night, killing him and injuring his son and son-in-law.
Initial police report said that three persons entered the house of Wazir Ali after Iftar while the women inmates were in the kitchen. On seeing the strangers inside their house, the women started crying which caught the attention of male members of the family.
As Wazir Ali, retired naval officer tried to overpower the intruders, they opened fire which hit him, his son Hammad Wazir and son-in-law killing Wazir and injuring the two.
Later the culprits escaped from the scene.
The SP Saddar and other police officers reached the scene and shifted the body and injured to hospital.
Apparently it seems like a robbery attempt, but police said they were investigating on different lines and the reason behind the incident would be ascertained after doctors allowed them to record the injured statements.
