Sahiwal Teaching Hospital granted PHC licence
SAHIWAL: The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) has granted a licence to the Sahiwal Teaching Hospital under the PHC Act of 2010 which allows the Sahiwal Medical College to use any premises, facility, or conveyance of the healthcare establishment.
It is said that against 163 qualitative and quantitative indicators, the hospital scored 95 points while the PHC requirement for licencing is 93 points.
The hospital is attached to the Sahiwal Medical College. Three public hospitals - Sahiwal DHQ Hospital, Haji Abdul Qayyum Hospital, and Ghala Mandi Mini hospital with 558, 72, and 10-bed capacities - are affiliated with Sahiwal Medical college as teaching hospitals. Of them, the DHQ hospital was first renamed the Sahiwal DHQ Teaching Hospital, and later on, it was declared the Sahiwal Teaching Hospital.
The hospital despite being affiliated with the SMC lacked the PHC licence for being short of quantitative and qualitative indicators required for licensing.
