Mingora school old students get together after 35 years
SWAT: The old students of a government school in Mingora gathered after 35 years and invited their teachers to pay tribute to them.
They conducted morning assembly in Government Higher Secondary School No.2 Haji Baba Mingora and attended classes to recall their schooldays from 1980 to 1985.
They invited their teachers and paid tribute to them. They also took part in all the routine activities of schooling including morning assembly and classes with their teachers.
The students and teachers said that they recalled their unforgettable moments of their school life. They said that school life was a golden time in everyone’s life and nobody could forget it but always longed for it.
“Social media reconnected us to recall the golden memories of our student life in 1980s. We decided to arrange a get together party with those teachers, who are still alive,” said Ihsan Haqqani one of the organisers and a journalist by profession. He added that it was a real Eid day for them.
The old students said that they recalled their childhood days and the importance of those days. They said that each and every student has a professional life now.
“We live in different parts of the country working in various fields but social media reunited us and today we are here in our old school,” said Momin Khan, who is a lecturer in a college.
Haji Zaman, a retired colonel and also one of the old students of the school, said that the get together party would be arranged regularly in coming years.
The old students visited their classrooms, playground and assembly ground and took photos with each other.
The teachers, who are now old and living retired life, said that they were excited to be invited and honoured by their students.
“We feel honoured that our students remember us and have invited us to the school where we taught them. God bless them all,” said Ali Haider, a retired teacher.
They also asked people to arrange get together programmes with their old schoolmates to recall the golden memories of their childhood.
