Youth found murdered in Orangi Town locality
KARACHI: A youth was found murdered in Rahim Shah Colony of Orangi Town on Monday, according to police.
Mominabad SHO Gul Mohammed Awan said that the body of 16/17-year-old youth was found lying in the hilly area of the colony near Masjid-i-Quba in Orangi Town-11.
The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors said he was hit with some hard and blunt object on his head.
Policeman, woman hurt in ‘encounter’
A policeman and a woman passerby were wounded during an alleged encounter between police and robbery suspects in a busy bazaar of Kharadar on Monday, according to police.
Area SHO Majid Alvi said that the two suspects had snatched a motorbike from a citizen on Faria Street in the Old City area and were trying to flee. The motorbike riders chased the suspects and while passing by a police picket at Sarafa Bazaar, the suspects opened fire. The bullets hit a police constable, Mir Mohammed, 50, and a woman passerby, Zubaida Tayyab, 48, the police officer said. However, he added, the suspects managed to escape.
The injured were taken to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment. Their condition was stated to be out of danger.
Meanwhile, a young man was shot at and wounded by suspected robbers over resistance in the Buffer Zone area on Monday.
Taimuria SHO Abdul Rasheed said that the suspects tried to commit robbery in a house located in Sector-15-A of Buffer Zone. One of the family members, Waqar Ahmed, 32, put up resistance upon which the suspects opened fire on him and fled the house without taking away anything.
