Murad, Dastgir discuss loadshedding
KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in his meeting with Federal Minister for Power Khurram Dastgir took up the issue of prolonged loadshedding in rural areas of the province and Karachi.
The meeting was held at CM House here on Thursday.
The chief minister said that there were two serious issues in rural areas of the province. “On the one hand, there is loadshedding of over 12 hours a day and, on the other, inflated bills are issued to consumers,” he said and urged the federal minister to issue necessary directives to the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company and the Sukkur Electric Supply Company to resolve the problems.
The federal minister assured the chief minister that both the problems would be resolved on a priority basis. In the first phase, the duration of loadshedding would be reduced and, in the second, it would be eliminated but it would take some time, he added.
Mr Dastgir also said that he would talk to the Hesco and Sepco authorities to make proper meter reading and issue power bills accordingly.
