Govt debt increases by Rs4.29tr in FY22

KARACHI: The central government’s total debt increased by Rs6.153 trillion to Rs42.994 trillion during a year from March 2021 to March 2022.

During the current fiscal year FY22 the debt increased by Rs4.29tr from Rs38.704tr.

The latest data issued by the State Bank of Pakistan on Thursday, the domestic debt and liabilities of the government increased by Rs1.567tr to Rs28.618tr during a year.

Similarly, the foreign debts and liabilities increased by $12.613bn to $128.920bn during a year from March to March 2022.

The data shows that the foreign debt and liabilities increased by $6.628bn during the 9 months of the current fiscal FY22.
