Delay in PTI funding case irks Fazl

PESHAWAR: JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has questioned delay in decision on the foreign funding case against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

“The foreign funding case has been pending before the Election Commission of Pakistan for the last eight years, which is a big question mark,” said Maulana Rehman while addressing a rally in Peshawar on Saturday night.

He wondered the 25 lawmakers of the Punjab Assembly had been de-seated on the basis of a presidential reference, while a PTI MNA and deputy speaker of the National Assembly, who had been disqualified by the ECP after detection of 65,000 fake votes, was given stay.

The Maulana said he had criticised the establishment, because they (the opposition) had certain grievances. “We expressed our grievances openly,” he said and urged the institution this was not time for politics, and every institution should think about the country’s future.

Criticising former premier Imran Khan, the Maulana said he was politically dead, and that his political career could not be resurrected.

Addressing the rally, Leader of Opposition in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Akram Khan Durrani said that Imran Khan had taken refuge in CM House to avoid arrest.

Mr Durrani held the PTI government responsible for the prevailing crises.
