RAWALPINDI: The Annual Development Plan for the next financial year is expected to involve an expenditure of a little over Rs 400 crores, as against Rs 260 crore provided in the current year’s plan for all Central and provincial programmes, including Tarbela… . The next year’s plan is expected to be radically different from the earlier plans if it is designated to reflect the aims of the present Government in the fields of development and social justice and the various reforms that it has already introduced during the past five months.
The new plan which is to be announced towards the end of June with the Central Budget for 1972-73 is likely to increase allocations for the comparatively underdeveloped provinces of Baluchistan and NWFP… . — Special representative
[Meanwhile, as reported by news agencies from Moscow,] The United States and the Soviet Union today [May 24] pledged mutual co-operation in the exploration and peaceful uses of outer space, aiming at a linkup of Soviet and US spacecraft in orbit in 1975.
