Minor boy killed in firing between rival groups

LAHORE: A minor boy, a transperson and a mother of five were allegedly murdered in separate incidents in the city here on Sunday.

As per police, two armed groups of Misri Shah area scuffled over a minor issue on Bilal Road. Later, the two sides exchanged massive fire which resulted into injuries to a man identified as Abdul Razaq, his 10-year-old son Umair and a passerby, Habib.

The injured were shifted to the hospital, where Umair succumbed to his injuries, while the condition of others was said to serious.

A police official said the rival groups were led by Usman alias Maan and Waseem Butt alias Seemi Butt.

He said the armed men of both parties fled the scene, while police have registered a case against them after shifting the deceased boy’s body to the city morgue for an autopsy.

In an incident in Sherakot area, a transperson, Ijaz (35), was allegedly stabbed to death by a street masseur over a monetary dispute.

A police official said, Ijaz hired an unidentified masseur and they exchanged hot words over the fee.

He said quoting eyewitnesses, the masseur attacked Ijaz with a dagger, and fled away leaving the transperson critically injured on road.

The injured was taken to the hospital where he died, the official said, adding that the police shifted the body to the city morgue for an autopsy and started looking for suspect after lodging a murder case against him.

In Manga Mandi, a man Babar Ali allegedly subjected his wife, Rabia, to severe torture over a domestic issue.

He later took her to the hospital, where she succumbed to her critical injuries, a police official said, adding that according to the doctors she had suffered deep wounds as a result of brutal torture by her husband.

The deceased woman was mother of five children. The police lodged a murder case against the suspect who had fled the scene.
