Japanese bike makers raise prices
KARACHI: Japanese bike assemblers have increased the prices by up to Rs23,500 citing rising cost of raw materials on account of rupee devaluation against the dollar.
Pak Suzuki Motor Company Ltd (PSMCL) has made a jump of Rs5,000-9,000 effective from June 1. The new price of GD110S, GS150, GS150SE and GR150 is Rs212,000, Rs232,000, Rs249,000 and Rs339,000.
Yamaha Motor Pakistan Ltd has announced a price jump of Rs21,000-23,500 on different models which would be effective from June 3. The new rates of YB125Z, YB125ZDX, YBR125, YBR125G (red/black) and YBR125G (matt dark grey) will be Rs231,500, Rs248,500, Rs255,000, Rs265,500 and Rs268,500.
Karachi Motorcycle Dealers Association (KMDA) has informed the customers that the Sindh Excise and Taxation Department Motorcycle Registration Wing has raised the rate of number plate by Rs 950 to Rs 1,450 which would be borne by the bike buyers, while the Department is responsible for release of number plate.
Prior to this, Atlas Honda Limited had enhanced the price up to Rs9,000 followed some Chinese bike assemblers by Rs3,000-10,000.
