LONDON: An assurance to the Pakistani settlers in Britain that their plea for dual nationality and other measures to overcome problems created by Pakistan’s exit from the Commonwealth would be met soon by the Pakistan Government, was given ... by Mr Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, the Education Minister, at a meeting in Bradford.

Mr. Pirzada, who is touring England’s counties of Yorkshire and Midlands, has brought with him schemes from the Ministries of Finance and Industries in Islamabad whereby Pakistani settlers abroad can be encouraged to remit more funds to Pakistan and invest in new Pakistani industries. — Chief Overseas Correspondent

[Meanwhile, as reported by our Staff Correspondent in Peshawar,] Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, the veteran Khudai Khidmatgar leader, is reported to have ruled out the possibility of his immediate return to Pakistan. He [has been] in self-exile for the last seven or eight years in Afghanistan.

Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, popularly known as Bacha Khan, is reported to have told a local newsman that he might consider his return only when he was fully satisfied that the Pukhtoons ... were prepared to offer all sacrifices for the rebui­l­­­ding and reconstruction of their homeland.
