Let’s play outdoor games
This is regarding the story “Let’s play outdoor games” by Ume Hania Irfan (YW, May 7). The article was the need of the time, because nowadays, kids have forgotten to play outside; sadly, gaming on the mobile and computer has almost replaced physical games.
The online world has badly affected our lives, so much so that we have lost our connection to our culture, family, relatives, and neighbours.
It is my request to all the readers to play physical games and insist that your siblings and friends also join you.
Outdoor games make us physically and mentally strong, as they refresh our mind and body.

The article “Let’s play outdoor games” by Ume Hania Ilyas carries a lesson for those who always spend their time on mobile phones instead of going outside to play and have fun with friends.
It is better and important for our mental and physical health to be part of physical activities and take part in sports. Today, technology is becoming advanced and more beneficial, but the young generation is using it excessively and that too wrongly. One of the best examples is the use of mobile phones. It is not wrong to say that we spend a great chunk of our day in playing video games and spending time on social apps, etc. Instead of wasting time on these things, we should go out and see the colours of the nature, refresh our mind by hanging out with friends and playing sports.
Moreover, I request parents to provide children with an environment where they can be involved in physical activities that will make them fitter, smarter, wiser, and more punctual and responsible.

Amazing migratory birds
This is regarding the cover article “Amazing migratory birds” by Rizwana Naqvi (YW, May 14). We usually don’t think about anything other than ourselves, let alone the local birds or the migratory birds, but the article beautifully detailed the habitat, food and the seasonal changes taking place in the lives of various birds species.
I think we kids should not only read, but also observe birds to learn how they live, eat and fly around.
We should learn more about the other creatures that live on the planet with us so that we can understand their needs and take care to make the world a better place for them too.
