Tariff for packaging, dye reviewed
ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Finance on Thursday reviewed the tariff rationalisation for the packaging and dye industries.
Senator Saleem Mandviwala chaired the meeting which reviewed the tax proposals in the Finance Bill 2022-23 for the third consecutive day.
National Tariff Commission Chairwoman Robin Athar briefed the committee in detail on the proposals included in the Finance Bill regarding tariffs. She said that changes have been made in the Finance Bill regarding the rationalisation of tariffs for the packaging and dyeing industries.
Senator Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said the export of raw materials should be discouraged so that the supply of raw materials within the country can be increased and industrialisation promoted.
A Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) official briefed the committee on tax exemptions on the import of bulletproof buses and special vehicles for the security of foreigners working on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and major power projects.
