One pineapple a year!
A pineapple plant can only produce one pineapple a year. After fruiting, the plant dies. However, before it dies it also produces an offspring. These plantlets were then grown into another pineapple.
Glass gem corn exists
Oklahoma farmer Carl Barnes spent years selectively breeding the colourful corn as a way to reconnect with his heritage. Now anyone can buy and plant the multi-coloured cobs.
Alliumphobia is the fear of garlic
People who have this fear may also avoid similar plants that have pungent odours. The origin of the word comes from Latin where ‘allium’ refers to a garlic bulb.
