BTS to take hiatus to pursue solo careers

South Korean K-pop boy band BTS is going on hiatus. They announced the break while celebrating BTS Festa, an event honouring its ninth anniversary as a band.

“We’re each going to take some time to have fun and experience lots of things,” Jungkook said. “We promise we will return someday, even more mature than we are now.”

The members will pursue solo careers during the hiatus. RM and other members teared up as they discussed the break. Jungkook ended by promising, “There’s so much more to come.”

BTS consists of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook; together they have released five full-length Korean albums since the band’s debut.

News of the hiatus follows the release of the anthology album Proof and a music video for the new single “Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment).”

Taylor Swift wants to make a film

Taylor Swift took a step from directing her own music videos to craft All Too Well: The Short Film — a 13-minute promo for the extended version of her song of the same name, which stars Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien — and she now wants to take her filmmaking career even further.

She told filmmaker Mike Mills: “It would be so fantastic to write and direct a feature. I was always looking and learning, and trying to absorb as much as I possibly could. A few music videos [into my career], I just started going into the edit, and making changes.”

However, Taylor admitted she was filled with doubts about her capabilities. But once she started directing, she didn’t want to stop, saying, “I found it incredibly fulfilling.”

While conceding that she’s still learning, Swift was clear that she approached the 15-minute All Too Well as a short film, “not a music video.”

Beyoncé’s new album drop on July 29

Beyoncé has revealed the title and release date for her next studio album, with the 16-track “Renaissance” set to drop July 29.

The superstar began listing the music and products on her website and several streaming services, including Tidal and Spotify, also announced the Beyoncé release.

Beyoncé tipped off fans that something important was coming when she removed her profile photos across all her social media platforms.

“Renaissance” would be the follow-up to 2016’s “Lemonade,” which featured on rapper Megan Thee Stallion’s remix of “Savage” and opening the 2022 Academy Awards with a performance of her song “Be Alive,” from the film King Richard.
