LAHORE: Punjab Cane Commissioner Muhammad Zaman Wattoo was transferred on the orders of Governor Balighur Rehman here on Wednesday.

He was replaced by Hussain Ali Bahadur Shah, presently additional secretary (internal security), home department, says a notification issued by Chief Secretary Kamran Afzal.

Mr Wattoo remained in news for strictly implementing the Sugar Factories Control Act to enable sugarcane growers get their dues from the millers within 15 days of the purchase of their crop.
