A special Father’s Day

This is regarding the story, “A special Father’s Day!” by Memoona Mukhtar (YW, June 18). It was a touching story about Father’s Day.

I personally believe that we should love and respect our parents throughout the year, but we should also celebrate these particular days with more enthusiasm and make everything special for them. Giving them happiness is our duty, so make your father or mother feel special and tell them how special they are in your life. Our parents don’t need material things from us, just our love and respect.

Scared of the sea

This is regarding the story “Scared of the sea” by Hamid Mujeeb (YW, June 18). The story was very nice and shared a common fear among children, which is of water, and how one can overcome it by having more confidence in their abilities.

Another salient point in the story is that marine life is extremely important and plastic acts as a poison for marine life. We have all seen the seaside with plastic bags and bottles scattered all over the place. This pathetic sight is dangerous for the environment, marine life and humans alike.

So whenever you visit the seaside, do not litter over there. In fact, try to clean the litter as much as you can, because it is our responsibility to keep the environment clean.

The story “Scared of the sea” by Hamid Mujeeb contained a hidden message for the readers that most of us have phobias about various things. But in order to move forward in life, we must overcome our fears — if we don’t, our fears will hold us back.

At such times, we must convince ourselves that there is no reason to be afraid of anything, and as soon as you realise that you are scared of something, try to overcome it and you will notice that you have become more confident than ever.

Live every day

This is with reference to the article “Live every day” by Ayesha Randhawa (YW June 25). The story contains a great lesson that we should live every day as if it were our last.

Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets and go on that way. One should get up with a positive mood and keep in mind that we love the people around us.

Let’s forgive the ones who have hurt us in any way. Let’s live everyday happily and as if it’s our birthday.
