MEMORY LOSS DILEMMA

MEMORY LOSS DILEMMA: This refers to the article ‘When memory fails’ (June 22). If investigated properly, interminable cases of Alzheimer’s might surface in the country. In addition to the few causes highlighted in the said article, there are several other contributing factors. Lack of access to quality healthcare is a major factor. We need to do everything we can to curb the rising number of victims.

CASHLESS TRANSACTIONS: THE undocumented economy poses a serious challenge. To formalise the economy, the introduction of cashless transactions in public offices can do the trick to a certain extent. MENACE OF DRUGS: Youth, described as the future of the country, is ruining its own future by falling in the trap of drugs and other contrabands. Many do not know what they are doing to themselves, their families and country. The future, for sure, does not even remotely cross their minds. When the money runs out, which does not take too long, they turn to petty crimes, and then comes the stage when the scale of the crime stops being a matter of concern for them. It is a cancer eating away the future of the country. The authorities concerned need to wake up and decimate the monster of drugs to protect the youth.

POWER OUTAGES: The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) seems hellbent on punishing the masses. The situation in Phuleli division has gone from bad to worse because of Hesco’s indifferent attitude towards repairing faulty transformers. People in many sectors have to wait for 10-15 days to get a replacement every time a transformer stops functioning. The unprofessional attitude has made lives miserable. Hello, Hesco! Anyone?
