Three gunned down in Swabi incidents

SWABI: Three people were killed in separate incidents here on Sunday.

Police said that one person was killed and another allegedly kidnapped by rivalsin a clash over a land dispute here on Sunday.

Swabi city police SHO Altaf Khan told this correspondent the incident occurred in Buqo area of Swabi tehsil.

He said the revenue department had evicted Ayaz Khan and others from about 10 kanals in Buqo on the orders of a local court on Aug 18 and handed the property over to family of Shah Jahan.

He said Mr Jahan along with cousins Saifullah, Inamullah, Ziaur Rehman and Mohammad Sadiq were busy in farming when Ayaz Ahmed, Imran, Usman, Luqman, Genghis, Rafiq, Fahd, Nasir Hayat, Shehzad, Murad, Shayan, Abdul Rehman and Sher Farzand, residents of Buqo, came and allegedly started firing on them.

As a result, Ziaur Rahman, who was a watchman at district education office, was killed on the spot, while the accused overpowered Sadiq and forcibly took him to an undisclosed location.

The police registered an FIR and have started investigations.

In another incident, a teenager identified as Afzal Khan was killed in Ismalia village when unidentified assailants opened fire on him, said Rescue 1122 officials. SHO Ajab Durrani said they had registered an FIR against unidentified people.

Also in the day, In Pehur Hamlet village a man killed his wife over a domestic issue and left his son, 13, injured. Topi tehsil DSP Iftikhar Ali Khan said Jan Sher, brother of the deceased, had registered an FIR against his brother-in-law, Ali Haider.
