Youngster ‘sexually assaulted’
RAWALPINDI: A supporter of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) was allegedly sexually assaulted by another political worker.
The victim filed a first information report (FIR) with Chauntra police, alleging that on Sunday, while he was playing outside Liaquat Bagh, a young boy approached him and requested him to accompany him so they could buy PTI flags.
He asked the motorcycle rider who he was while he was being driven to a house on Chakri Road from Liaquat Bagh. He said the young man replied that they would be going back soon. After that, he said he was taken to the woods where he was subjected to sexual abuse. The police shifted the victim to the hospital for medical examination. The suspect is yet to be arrested by the police.
Earlier, the police booked four PTI supporters on charges of offering resistance to police, tearing their uniform and depriving a police official of his cash and wrist watch during PTI’s public rally at Liaquat Bagh.
The incident happened when the police prevented a group of PTI supporters from entering Liaquat Bagh through the female gate. The activists allegedly beat the officers, tore their uniforms, snatched money and wrist watch from a policeman on Sunday. The city police have registered an FIR against four PTI activists.
