Glorious Muslim scientists

This is regarding the article “Glorious Muslim scientists” by Muhammad Ibrahim Shafi (YW, August 6). I was surprised to read the article as the information in the article was new to me. I came to know that various things we are seeing today and praising others for inventing them are actually the great works and innovations of our Muslim forefathers.

After reading it I came to a conclusion that we, Muslims, are a nation who ruled in the field of science, medicine and other areas of studies for centuries, and yet we don’t acknowledge it. We should take inspiration from these amazing Muslim scientists and inventors, and follow in their footsteps.

Paper roll desk organiser

This is regarding the Wonder craft “Paper roll desk organiser” by The Crafter (YW, August 6). It was an amazing craft and it clearly showed the hard work done in creating paper rolls stacked over each other, taking the shape of a multi-organiser.

It was indeed useful in keeping most of the stationary items at one place and there is no need of searching for pins, rubbers or clips, etc., in the drawer or the bag.

I appreciate the writer for introducing such amazing and useful crafts to us and would request him to come up with more useful products that we can use in our routine life.

The crying trees

This is regarding the story “The crying trees” by Ayesha Imran, (YW, July 22).

The story not only gave a social awareness message, but also portrayed a sorry state of our unhealthy environment. Moreover, the story made me quite emotional as the situation relates to something I have also experienced in the recent past.

In my village, there used to be trees on both sides of the road, but now the road is barren on both sides and it feels like we are travelling in a desert. We humans are strange creatures, we do not care about anyone other than our own selves. This will do no good to us in the long run, in fact we will regret it when we can’t do anything to reverse the effects of what we are doing today.

My first pet

This is with reference to the story “My first pet” by Saleha Rizwan (YW, July 16). The story was very touching as it gave an insight into the unique relationship between humans and animals. Keeping a pet can give immense pleasure to humans, as animals offer a good company and can be the reason behind making us relaxed.
