Peshawar corps commander pays tribute to fallen captain

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Peshawar Corps Commander Lt-Gen Hassan Azhar Hayat visited the family of Shaheed Captain Abdul Wali Wazir at Karikot village near Wana in South Waziristan and offered fateha for the martyred officer.

According to a statement issued by the ISPR on Thursday, Lt-Gen Hassan Azhar Hayat paid rich tribute to the Shaheed and his family for the ultimate sacrifice while defending the motherland.

In memory of the martyred captain, the main auditorium of the Cadet College, Wana – where he was a student and his father is working as an employee – has been named as Abdul Wali Wazir Shaheed Auditorium to pay respect and tribute to the brave son of the soil.

Shaheed Captain Wali Wazir had embraced martyrdom while leading an operation against terrorists in Boyya area of North Waziristan two days ago. Four militants had been killed in the operation.

Commandant South Waziristan Scouts Mohammad Owais Shamim, South Waziristan deputy commissioner Amjad Meraj, DPO Khanzeb Mohmand and additional AC, Wana, Dr Sadiq Ali, civil and military officers and tribal elders were also present.

On this occasion, Lt-Gen Azhar Hayat held a detailed meeting with Usman Wazir, father of the martyred captain, and assured him of all kinds of cooperation.
