Three injured as grenade lobbed at Dera seminary
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two students and a teacher were injured when unknown miscreants lobbed a grenade onto a seminary in Taj Colony on Chashma Road here the other day.
Saddar police station officials said that two students, Zahid and Abidullah, and a teacher, were injured in the blast.
Witnesses said the windowpanes of the seminary and nearby buildings shattered when the grenade exploded.
DSP Saddar Hafiz Adnan and SHO Saleem Khan reached the seminary along with a contingent of police, and started a search for the perpetrators.
The injured teacher and students were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Dera Ismail Khan, where they are stated to be in stable condition.
An FIR was lodged against unknown assailants under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Meanwhile, four members of a family, who were injured in a gas leak explosion in a house in Mohallah Mohanyan Wala two days ago, died of fatal injuries at the Nishtar Hospital, Multan, on Monday.
The explosion had occurred in the house of Mohammad Farooq, resulting in injuries to four of his family members, including his wife, a son, a daughter and a daughter-in-law.
The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Dera, wherefrom they were referred to the Nishtar Hospital in Multan in critical condition.
The deceased were identified as Farooq’s wife Rukhsana Bibi, son Mohammad Umar Farooq, daughter Alishba Farooq and daughter-in-law Anum Bibi.
