CJP to preside over regional conference

LARKANA, Dec 21: A regional judicial conference is being held here on Dec 30 which will be presided over by the chief justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

The District Bar Association president Ayaz Soomro said here on Wednesday that district and session judges, additional session judges and senior civil judges from Larkana, Dadu, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Qambar-Larkana and Kandhkot would participate in the two-session conference.

Justice Rahmat Hussain Jafferi, Justice Qaisar Iqbal, Abdul Ghani Soomro and district and session judges will speak on different topics.

In recognition of contribution of Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and Justice (retired) Zahid Qurban Alvi towards construction of the building of the Sindh High Court, Larkana circuit, the Larkana District Bar Association would present them medals, Mr Soomro said.

The chief justice will arrive here on Dec 29 and attend a dinner to be hosted by the bar association.
