Woman ‘sexually assaulted’ in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: A woman claimed to have been sexually assaulted and deprived of Rs475,000 by the alleged rapist.

The victim, who is a resident of Jhanda Chichi, lodged an FIR with Civil Lines police in which she stated that a man had started visiting her house and later began extorting money from her through blackmailing. She said the suspect snatched her ATM card and withdrew Rs475,000 from her bank from time to time. She said he then sexually assaulted her and took her photographs.

He further alleged that the suspect’s accomplice later posted the photograph on social media.

The two suspects have been identified in the FIR.

The police investigating officer said after registration of the FIR, the rape victim was contacted for medical examination on Wednesday.
